I can't place the scrap yard you mention Compo but I heard today that the Brockhurst site was badly hit 2 weeks ago. If only they had told us at least fore warned would have been better than nothing.

The sheds where I am were broken into on a daily basis for around 3 months solid...

The little darlings concerned were caged in the end. It is just a very small proportion of people making a problem for the rest.

Personally, i'm all in favour of a sub machine gun turret.

The security fencing has now been re-enforced and razor wire put along the top.

I never lock my shed....to be honest, I can't get in my shed, let alone anyone else.

The best thing to do is to carry on. My attitude is "it's my life and I will continue doing what I enjoy. No-one will put a stop to it, only me"
Lots of love

Hi Beryl

The scrapyard was near the cycle track that was the old railway line, I think the are it would probably be called is Leesland. But anyway that detracts from the point...Lizzie is right, 'nos illigitis carribundum; which I think is Latin for don't let the bastards grind you down...

In one of the programmes - and I think it was the Big Dig - a chap had a false wall in his shed. So, you walked in and saw all the usual paraphenalia. Them he unlocked a series of panels and all of his tools and precious things were stored in a Narnia like space.

That might be worth considering.

As for 'this generation' - sadly, I don't think they are any different to any other. They just have more access.

Well I guess I have to disagree a bit Tigger, vandalism and similar thoughtless behaviour is not as bad in other countries...although we are not the only country with the problem.....we definitely have an unpbringing problem in 21st C Britain. I agree about the access issue, as we make it too easy for SOME minorities of youngsters to do nothing and get away with serious crime.

There are however, thousands and thousands of well behaved young people who will one day make fantastic citizens, they keep me going!!

Dear Beryl, you could always put up some posters of me in the sheds, i'm sure that would scare all but the bravest of trouble makers away, the only problem with that would be, the shed owners would not want to go in the sheds either.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I/we await your reply
