Hello Darrenc

I would not waste my time reading a lot of spurious meaningless theory about these absurd foolish fairy tales. There is plenty of sound information from experienced gardeners that you would be far better off following than getting involved with this absurd lunar planting drivel. Having said that, I must confess to sowing broad beans by the light of the moon this autumn.

Cheers for souvenirs

Hi Darren,
By all means try Lunar planting but do us all a favour and plant some of the same seed at a time not recommended for lunar planting for a comparison.
We have heard from people who marvel that their seeds have germinated because they used the 'Lunar Calender' but in my long experience seeds germinate whenever and wherever they are planted. Surprisingly that is what seeds do!
There seems to be a tendency of late that you simply must use some mystical method to steal an advantage on your fellow gardener whereas in truth if you follow the directions given, either in the seed catalogue or on the seed packet, you will fair equally well.
My summation is that Lunar Planting is the biggest load of B---ks I have ever read and all you would be doing, by buying a Lunar Calender, is to add money to the coffers of a load of complete charlatans.
Be guided by your common sense.
JB.
