Hi What would eat my poppy seed heads.I picked some opium poppy heads some weeks ago to dry for Christmas decoration, I had them standing in a tall pot bottomless on the greenhouse staging, when I went down today all that was left was the stems, a 1/2 of one head and no seeds to be seen. Never had this happen before.

Dear Bren, it sounds like mice to me.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Yes, I would think it's mice. I watched a little fieldmouse this summer climbing up to a poppy head, demolishing it and eating the seeds - I hope it had sweet dreams!
