I planted 3 Arum Lilly bulbs in a patio container a couple of weeks ago and am perplexed to see that the first tips of their new shoots are already peeping through the surface.
Did I plant them too early and if so, will the shoots survive the winer if we have a frost? Have never grown them before and was under the impression that all new bulbs should be planted in the autumn.

Dear Primrose, i think it depends what type you have bought, but most will tolerate about -5, some down to minus -15, but nature will take it course i'm sure.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.
