Last time I did this (a long time ago!) I got them from a second hand furniture/materials yard. They had all kinds of stuff, Victorian tiles, old chimney pots etc. I would have a look in your Yellow Pages under second hand furniture. Even if the places you contact don't have them, they may be able to point you in the direction of someone who deals in this kind of thing.

Dear Giulia, if you look in your local yellow pages under scaffold companies, these will always have secondhand boards for a very reasonable price, as they have to change them after a certain amount of time.
They will probably deliver them as well if they are in your area.
