Would anybody in their right mind buy seeds from Victoriana Nursery defies me.
Douce Provence Peas, (Incorrectly defined in their advertisement as a Petit Pois Type which is not the case) 200 seeds £4.95. + £3.95. P&P
For a simple comparison:
Douce Provence Peas from Edwin Tuckers 500 seeds for £1.50. + £1.00. P&P.
So if peas are all you require from Victoriana Nursery then 200 pea seeds will cost you £8.90.
Me thinks they are taking the PEAS!
JB.

I think the same about most other seed companies compared to Seeds of Italy. This last weekend I sowed a row of lettuce from a British seed company £1.10 for 800 seeds (I was given these) and a row of lettuce from Seeds of Italy 8,000 seeds for £1.29. Guess whose seeds I buy wherever possible.

Hi Granny
I do buy on-line but they also send me a catalogue each year.
If you email them at the address that Alan has given you, giving your full name and address they will send you a catalogue in the post when it's available. They'll also send you a pdf file of the catalogue to view on line. The pdf is a lot easier to read than the hard copy as it's twice the size!
Don't expect anything to happen for a couple of weeks as they're all on holiday (Italian national 9-27 August)
but at other times of the year their turn around time is fantastic.
Having said all that, one of the best things about Seeds of Italy is their working practice. How many companies do you know who can say this
"Our new premises are lit with natural light and when it comes to sending mail order packets out, we re-use all Franchi packaging and boxes from home etc. So if your seeds arrive in an empty panettone box, that's how it is. We re-use all scrap paper, shred unwanted documents to use as packaging material, we limit visits to our outlets to save on petrol and pollution, and we send their goods by post.
As a company, we close for two weeks in August. This means all our staff have a proper break and come back refreshed and energised. We lunch all together with a big bowl of pasta or Salad Nicoise and a glass of wine for instance, all prepared daily on the premises with fresh ingredients, some from the garden, so we all eat properly which is more important than ever these days. We close on Sundays, religious holidays and when Italy are playing football (Forza Azzurri !!)."?

Ah what a wonderful work culture ! Just think of all the pleasures I missed when I was working for a big American company - no natural daylight, a quick sandwich for lunch eaten at my desk whilst working and not a snifter of alcohol allowed anywhere near the premises. Will definitely get their catalogue. Sounds like the kind of business I like supporting.
