A chap in our village who keeps a small weather station (as I do, too, and we compare our records) has just pointed out that in July 2006 there were only four days in July when our top temperature did not reach 20C whereas this year, there were only four days in July when the maximum temperature DID reach 20C!
And today, by the way, it's been raining or drizzling all day, so tonight I'll be out on snail patrol.

Well lucky old me, I have had the last week off and have next week as holiday as well. Just seem to have hit that perfect window of weather this summer.
Not going away as a bit skint at present (Hubby purchased large amount of kit for his business this spring), but enjoying pottering on the allotment and generally lazing about in the sun
I go on snail patrol regularly, but only to find treats for the chucks. A handfull of snails is chicky nirvana for my girls.

Hi Mokina,
Last July I was already picking bowlfuls of outdoor ripened Gardeners Delight tomatoes but looking out over a lawn which was totally brown and parched because of the hosepipe ban.
This July I was looking out over a lush green lawn but staring at tomato plants sporting some miserable green marbles.
Just can't win when you're a gardener, can you?
