I'm with you there Jenny, even if it is sunny enough to sit out after work with a wee drinkie, it is blowing such a gale, that I can't even have the back door open!!
Back to topic, our lavender on the plot had loads of bumblers on it last weekend, but I couldn't possibly say whether it was more or less than last year. Lovely to watch though!!

Seeing bumble bees grounded by Varoa is unsettling, but the other week I found a large black beetle struggling with them round his thorax as well. I have tried to remove them from grounded Bummblers but they don't appreciate the help I'm trying to give them. I have thought of putting them in the fridge for a while to slow them down, (bees and varoa) and then trying to remove the mites, thought of using a wooden toothpick with a dab of honey on the point.

In the Country file programme on Sunday, there was a good bit about bees. It seems as though we do not have the nasty virus which is in some european countries. Let's hope it does keep away!
