3 Butternut have hardly grown in comparison and have a slight yellow tint. We've not had excessive rain here(for a change) so it's probably the temperature at night, I've seen a low of 9C on the mim/max though can't vouch for its accuracy.

planted out at the start of june  i forgot that bit.

Courgettes are flying - first three were in coldframes at the start of May. 10 plants now, Ambassador & real seeds stripy green, I've had courgettes for around a month now & the glut is finally upon me, :D hooray

butternuts planted in April - dead from cold wet weather.

courgettes planted in April - 2 of four survived the rotten weather and are only just starting to produce fruit.

For once I will have a shortage of courgettes.

Courgettes are coming BUT a number are going brown and rotting. Squashes are growing but nowhere near flowering. We live in a windy place which tends to keep temperatures down and I think this has had an effect on them together with the generally low temperatures. However, some squashes often fruit later. Our Crown Prince was still rampaging at this time last year and then produced good fruit.

I've got lots of courgettes but very few squashes or pumpkins.

I planted crown prince this year. One of the plants is doing ok, the others struggled with the low temperatures in may.

I'm running a giant pumpkin competition amongst my friends and I have 1 Atlantic giant pumpkin which has set and is now starting to grow. I did pollinate it myself. The slugs are a problem as usual.

Courgettes are starting to crop now but they have been very slow to get going.

Very disappointed with my courgettes - they have not grown at all since I put them in in early June. They have one or two flowers on, but no fruit, and the leaves are no bigger. Was talking to someon at Ryton Organic in Coventry yesterday. He showed me the field of courgettes - and they all looked exactly like mine. They also have not had any to harvest. Other squashes are suffering similarly. He said it was as much the lack of light as excess rain and cold.
