Slowworms

Can't identify that mould? Got a great tip for keeping slugs at bay? Suggestions for organic weed control? Post them here...

I have a compost heap covered with a black polethene sheet, when I lift it there are sometimes a dozen slowworms basking, and also several brown toads.I have loved them being there. But I now notice the compost is not degrading like it should do, and I realize the slowworms and toads must be eating the tiger worms, do I need to relocate my slow worms?.Has anyone encountered this as a problem ?

Lucky you, having slowworms in the compost heap! I would leave them their share of tiger worms and be patient with the slower progress of the composting. I can't imagine that the worm consumption of toads and slowworms will make that much difference.
