Big list - good time to start for this autumn and next year.

Try French Beans (now :!:), Beetroot, spinach beet, chicory, lettuce, pak choi, radish, spring cabbage (end of month).

Now wait for lots more suggestions and get busy.

Best of luck

its worth trying any of the quick growing "early " varieties of common veg, for example nantes carrots are an early carrot cos they are quick growing, some of the early peas are worth a try, its cold and wet enough for them to think its march :D greyhound or primo cabbage , perhaps you can get hold of spare plants from neighbours, boot sales etc. try sticking in the side shoots from someone elses tomatoe plants, its surprising what will produce something edible even when you dont follow the rules on the packet, a lot of course will depend on the weather but there should be pleanty of soil moisture when we get some warm weather to provide nearly ideal quick growing conditions.
