OK - as we're going to have a virtual hen party for Chantal (big day next month) we need a theme for fancy dress.

Any ideas?

How about wealthy celebrities, that would allow us to wear some pretty awfull stuff, :) and Jopsy could wear one of her desinger outfits, that look so out of place in her village. :)

Should save on fancy-dress hire charges. And think how much you'll learn about growing figs :!: :!:

And apples for that matter

Tramps Ball. Then we could have a competition to see who has the oldest most tatty clothes. I should think we gardeners ought to be able to dig out some splendid elderly workaday uniforms. And please can I wear my disgusting old quilted anorak, which I've had for 40 years and won't throw it away for sentimental reasons. (I bought it to wear on my honeymoon when it was the height of fashion and now it's almost an antique and only gets an airing when I need to paint fences and do other messy work.

Dear Primrose, i take it you didn't go anywhere hot on your honeymoon then, if you needed a quilted anorak. :)

I don't mind wearing a fig leaf, but i'm not holding my wrist all limp, like in Alans photo.

OH
I always thought that boys that went to hen parties were of the limp-wristed persuasion!

I think this might be the end of me now. :)

Why do I wish I'd never started this...........?

OK - so far we have Tramps, Adam & Eve, Wealthy Celebrities and Roman Gardeners.

I suggest we continue to collect ideas over the next few days and then I'll organise a poll so you can vote for your favourite.

Do tell me now if that's not the way to proceed.

It has to be fifties sixties and seventies pop celebrities, we have something then for everyone, Bill Haily, The Beatles, Sandy Shaw, Roxy Music you name it there is someone for everyone to emulate.

Who would I be now?

Francis Albert Sinatra?
Elvis?

It's a thought anyway
