Today in the perfect village of Milton Bryant, the Red Cross have organized a day of open gardens.
A lot of people have put a huge amount of effort into their gardens, as well as the Red Cross setting it all up.
But it looks as if the weather is gong to spoil it, it's raining quite heavy now, but they are on about it getting heavier as the day goes on.
It really is such a pity, lets hope they get some hardened gardeners turn up.
I know this is a bit silly, but two of the big gardens i work at are opening, and i'm a little nervous about the comments the public will make to the owners.
I hope they are all favourable.

I'm very sorry to hear of your disappointment with the weather. Especially after all the hard work you and others will have put in during the fine spring. I can only hope that the sun will appear at some point in the day.

And when the fine weather returns, all the work will have been worthwhile.

Well the rain just got heavier and heavier as the day went on, but credit to the 150 people that still turned out, they all got absolutely soaked through, bless them.
I haven't spoken to the two people whose gardens i do, so i hope all went well.

Jenny, funny you should mention Chelsea, i was talking to a neighbour yesterday and her Sister-in-laws freind had a garden at the show, so you never know.
I wonder what on earth the Queen would make of me, i might even let her have a bag of my runner beans.

Well the weather has just got worse, it has rained non-stop for nearly 36 hours now, and the wind got up yesterday early evening.
It is now hammering it down, and really gusting about.
Just been over the allotment and everything looks well battered and sorry for themselves.
I just have too much stuff out to try and cover everything.
Just seen the weather, and they reckon it could be the coldest May day on record in England, at just 8 degrees for the daytime temperature.

I suppose we will always get some sort of weather.

its come at the right time for the soft fruit and the early spuds, have to see if its too much for he gooseberries though they may start splitting. cats wernt too chuffed when slung out at 11 pm though, the 2 old ones are having a hard time at the mo, weve just aquired a 10 week kitten, he head butted the 13 year old out of his dish this morning and wants to chase their tails which aint going down to well.
