Despite getting a lot done in the garden this morning, we were rained off after lunch, so we've had a productive afternoon making ice-cream. 24 litres of the stuff!

A neighbour gave us lots of fresh Guernsey milk and we used free range eggs. So now there's 6 different varieties waiting to be eaten. :D

Dear Tigger, that ice-cream sounds absolutely delicious, what varieties did you make by the way.
I'm glad your wet afternoon wasn't wasted.
Now you just need some sunny days to enjoy it, there again i bet it will be pretty good on a rainy day. :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Gosh, you must have a big freezer to accommodate that lot. Your wet afternoon was more productive than mine. I'm afraid I pulled up a few weeds in between the rain showers and then just sat indoors lazily watching two families of baby starlings all fighting for their share of pickings on the bird table. I've had to top it up several times. These little blighters have very healthy appetites.

Hang my head in shame - we have 5 freezers.

Ice cream. We made Whiskey, Calvados and Apple, Brandy and Honey, Amaretti, Lemon Curd and Lemon Meringue, Baileys, Rum and White Chocolate.

Hmmnn - that's seven rather than six.

Can't count.

The rum and white chocolate sounds rather pleasant, but there again so does the ..... :)

Now we all know where Bob Flowerdew goes to get his broken freezers from. :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Well that lot should last the summer at least!
Do you have an industrial ice cream maker, Tigger? I think the motor on mine would conk out if I made all that lot in one afternoon.

We do! It's the same model that they use on BGM and SBJ. We bought it second hand from a pastry chef (via an ad in our local paper) for less than a little domestic one costs. Our friends thought we'd lost the plot, until they tasted the ice-cream. It makes 2 litres in 15 minutes.

What a great idea! Now I only need to find space for 5 freezers.
