Best paeony

I have room for just one paeony (it has to be a paeony) - and wondered which to get - oh so many.

Which is the longest flowering, unusual colouring (not just bog standard pink) scented variety?

Dear Diane, well i would have a job choosing between these two.

Duchesse de Nemmours, this is a double, fragrant, pure white and very stunning.

But the one i think i would get would be, Laura Dessert, this one is very slightly pink though.
It is fragrant, and has pink flushed, creamy white outer petals and pale Canary yellow incurving inner petals, truly spectacular.

But as you say, there are so many.

Don't know what it's called but I have a peony on my allotment that I think is just gorgeous.

Dear Malk, this is the common paeony,
Paeony Officinalis (Rubra Plena), i think.

In your photo, are the brambles to stop people pinching it.

That could make a nice poem, the paeony amongst the brambles grew....., i'll let you finish it off, you would do such a better job than me.

Sad that it's considered common. The colour is really lush.

The brambles keep vandals from getting over the fence, but do work with the peony as well as I've had several requests for seed. the seed never germinates, but I did managed to dig up a portion last year so now have another plant at home.

I have written a poem about it, it deserved it.
