I was merrily working away on the plot yesterday (Sunday) thinking about various things garden...as you do.

We(that's my fellow plotholders and I) have a few problems with mice eating pea and bean seeds when planted direct.
This in spite of many of the old remedies being tried such as soaking the seed in paraffin etc.

A few weeks ago I had moved my Comfrey barrel and filled it up to ferment.I had just a few minutes earlier stirred the mixture up and inhaled the delicious aroma as only a true gardener can really appreciate

I got to thinking that if I applied some of the comfrey solution to my newly planted pea seeds would the odour deter the mice... Well I have tried it

In for a penny in for a pound

Hi OH

I don't know about mice but when I got home I absolutely stank...the Governor wouldn't come near me...it looks promising
