Is it OK to use compost with lots of mint roots in it? I was going to top up some outside beds, but wondered if it was a bit like Couch grass or Bindweed in that does it sprout from every tiny rootlet????

Hi Mazmezroz,
Obviously it would be best to remove the roots but if it is a crop that you are going to hoe at the worst you would get masses of Mint. However it can become invasive so really best removed.

My experience is that even the smallest piece of root can regenerate itself and although small cuttings would be easy to pull out if you spread your compost, it's probably best to remove them avoid a long-term problem.
