We have finally had some decent rain after weeks of waiting. :)
Been and had a look at the allotments, and i'm sure everything has grown already.
Everything smells so fresh out there this morning, it makes one glad to be alive.

Infact i was meant to be working this morning, but i might not go, and just stay at home and enjoy it. :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I'm pleased for you OH.
Here we have had hardly any and I notice from the week's forecast that most of the "real rain" is going to be to the South of us. But you certainly must need it.

We've had some too - but not enough for puddles. More due this week though. :D

No rain here in the West Midlands either, just a few spits and spots, the allotment soil is like dust, come on a few good showers would do nicely.

Rain - did somebody mention rain! What we have had here in Glos has not even settled the dust.

We've not had much rain, either, about 7mm so far and the forecast doesn't promise much more for the foreseeable future (contrary to the forecast two days ago). I planted our last potatoes today (Sarpo Mira) and only the top layer was slightly damp. No doubt the rain will come eventually, but for the moment our water tubs are completely empty.

2.5mm in the rain gauge at work this morning....from a sharp shower last evening.

....barely 1mm at home here.

A few light quick moving showers today....

...I'm shattered from lawnmowing in the tiring maddening wind.

Did I read that Woburn had the most rainfall at the weekend..??

Dear Clive only you will know if you read that.
I wouldn't be surprised if we did get the most rain, as it was a nice steady rain for about twelve hours.
it's soaked right down so has done a good job.

Sounds like you need to put your feet up and have a drinking chocolate brought to you.

16mm by this morning, great! It's been mainly dry but very windy today. I planted the leeks this afternoon (Lyon 2 Prizetaker) and could make some real holes with the dibber, rather than the dry soil just runnig down into it and filling it! More rain forecast for the end of the week and we do still need it.
