Read in The Telegraph yesterday that a new variety of purple asparagus has been produced and is currently being grown in the Vale of Evesham. Apparently it's supposed to be so tender that you can eat it raw. Wonder when it will appear in the supermarkets so we can try it out.

ive got some in the allotment i baught it from dobies 3 years ago as 2 yo crowns,so far its produced about half a dozen spears per year,quite disapointing realy! looks nice though!
