The recipes that came with the breadmaker all have sugar and it also says "for an extra crusty loaf add more sugar" so perhaps that's what it's for, a hard crust. That I can live without if the smell is improved.

I'm not trying to belabour the point, but it's the sweet, yeasty smell that comes with a tiny baby's nappy, especially when just on breast milk. And you didn't sound off, Compo - just bemused!

I pop my loaves straight into the oven at Mk6 for about 10 min as soon as they are finished in the machine. This gives them a superb crust.

I bet if i ever pop round to Chantals for tea, i would get tesco's thin slice, just to make sure i didn't return in a hurry. :twisted: :) :wink:

For once you are right Tigger, :shock: it wouldn't be Tesco bread, it would be freshly baked bread from our local bakers, and also a couple of big creamy cakes. :wink:
