Moulin Rouge Seed Potatoes

I have been chitting my potatoes on a windowsill for a few weeks now. Whilst the Winston and Kestrel have produce lovely dark coloured sturdy looking shoots, the Moulin Rouge have only produced some barely noticeable tiny shoots. Does this mean they are pathetic. Can I help them along?

Dear JoJoB, not all potatoes chit that freely, pink fir apple is another one that doesn't, so i wouldn't worry about the Moulin Rouge.
Theres even a lot of discussion going on at the moment whether it's worth chitting at all.
I do still chit my potatoes by the way.

Old Herbaceous is right to mention Pink Fir Apple. They are very late to chit, but always grow. Their lateness in chitting is due to their ability to store without sprouting longer than most varieties.
To quote Thompson and Morgan:

A Pink Fir Apple x Desiree cross similarly as the increasingly popular Anya but with a much more oval tuber shape and pink skin, the flesh can also display a red tinge.

My advice would be that there is no problem with your poatoes - just plant them when you are ready to.
