Dear Bren, i'm stll on the old style forum, on this it tells you if you have any messages, click on this and it will take you to a different box system, it should come up with the in box, and any new P.Ms should be in orange, click on this and you can read the new message.
This has probably confused you more now
It was you that sent me a P.M on the size of your allotments wasn't it. His and hers.
Hopefully someone else will come to the rescue.

As forecast today was howling wind and rain, so went up the allotment to sow some more seeds in the greenhouse, good job I did because, I had forgot to fix one of the panes with self tapping screws, it had blown out, but being plastic I just picked it up from several plots down.
As it was too wet to work in the mega cold frame I sewed some beans in peat pots and other seeds and listend to Johnny Walker, back home for sixish and was a tad late for tea, OH had put it in the oven so no problem.
When I got back decided to put the car back together after having seats down and realised that I had left the bl...y parcel shelf at mole valley farmers, so will have to try and retrieve it, my wife says I should make lists, but I forget!! What a memory. Making a list would not have helped my memory with the parcel shelf though!!!

Exactly, it's cos I'm so busy, I have so many roles........sometimes I get to the next job, before I have left the last one!!! If you want something doing, ask a busy person............

More of the same I hope without the absent minded bit!! With a bit of luck lots of little green shoots should be present from what I have sowed this weekend. I always get left with a little despondant feeling on mondays, because of the things I haven't done, but hey there is always next weekend weather permitting!!!

Cleared a patch on Friday all ready to plant onions, shallots and garlic and went up the garden on Saturday to find the whole patch sitting in a small pond. The willow tree is happy - it's been sitting in a small lake for weeks now. So dug out more brambles and set up new compost heaps with pallettes that the local garden centre wanted to get rid of.

Saturday I gave the fruit cage a serious seeing to. Finished the pruning and tying in, weeded all the beds, gave everything its annual feed, mulched the blackcurrants with manure and the blueberries with used grobags and pressure washed the paths. I must say I think it looks pretty smart now and should look after itself for a few months.
Sunday I got up and listened to the dire weather forecast which reckoned I might be fine until lunchtime so I uncovered the potato plot and planted two 25' rows of Rocket and just finished building the tunnel cloche over them when the rain started. I was amazed how good the soil was that I had dug and composted in January then covered. It had germinating chickweed in it so must be quite warm. The rest of the day was almost a write off but for a bit of sowing and pricking out.
Looking at my diaries I see I usually hear the Curlews about the same day as I plant the spuds but no sign yet. I love their calls and think they are a real sign of Spring coming.
