Just in case anyone is wondering - the photo I'm using at the moment is a view of our allotment before we started work on it - five foot high nettles, two hydrangea bushes and two climbing roses. When we get things properly sorted out I'll post a different picture. I've been taking photos of the site's progress since we acquired it and have quite a collection now. It's nice to look back over them and see the actual progress that has been made. :D

Isn't it great to see the change from one season and one year to the next. I'm always taking photos.

Here's my allotment when I got it in 2003

And here's a more recent photo

New greenhouse and shed, new edging for the beds, paths cleaned up, things beginning to take shape. And most important I've managed to grow lots of wonderful crops there.

Dear Tea-shot and Malk, it is nice to see the progress than can be achieved in one season, it really must help the first time gardeners to see that it is possible to do. :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Just a quick question. How do you manage to put photos into your replies? It took me a long time to get the pic of the allotment to load!

Herby, I wish this was one year's worth of improvement, but it's more like three. Thanks though, I enjoyed every moment, muscle strain, skelf of it.

Tea-shot, I use the holdthatpic site (www.holdthatpic.com) and then unclicked the Disable BBCode at the bottom of the Kitchen Garden reply screen and pasted in the BBCode they offer you when you upload your photo. Does that make sense? Check out holdthatpic, it's pretty easy to figure out. I mean even I figured it out and I have nappy-brain.

Good luck.

Thanks OH

I will dig out a picture of my new greenhouse which has just been erected and needs glazing yet... it is 10' x 8' and replaces an 8' x 6' which has been given to a neighbour..

Here goes.....

Dear Deb P, what a transformation in such a short time, bet you can't wait for the spring now, so you can reap the rewards of all the hard work.

You're not the person that does those garden make-over programmes in a day are you.

I am impressed ...well done

Fortunately I took photo's in the early days and then on through all the various alterations and when I look back it surprises even me how things have changed
It gives me the incentive to carry on
