The New Kitchen Garden by Anna Pavord is a well written comprehensive book that I use time and again.

John Seymour's book is the one that got me started on growing veggies. It even tells you how to slaughter a pig, etc!!! In my modern 3 bed semi at the time, with its postage stamp garden, it wasn't altogether appropriate!!

This book has recently been reprinted and revised. It's well worth having.

The next one I got was the Anna Pavord Dorling Kindersley Kitchen Garden book. Nice and simple to follow.

As is the Vegetable and Herb Expert. Mine has fallen apart with use, and I love it!

Got given the Joy Larkcom book for Christmas because of recommendations from this site, and have to say, tis great.

Hope you've got a good big room for your library!!!
