I will be growing this potato for the first time this year. Has it a short haulm, are the tubers on long or short stolons? Anyone any advice?
Hi Colin,
According to Tuckers Catalogue Lady Christl is Oval in shape the Skin is Yellow and the flesh Light yellow but it doesn't mention any other details.
Have never grown them so regret cannot comment.
JB.

Dear Colin,
short haulm, doesn't always flower so keep an eye on the calendar and the tubers are usually close together. I put mine in during the first half of March and I don't protect them. They are usually ready by mid June. I plant about 6 inches deep and don't earth up. The mature spuds (if any) will make good bakers. Reasonable yield for earlies.
Regards Sally Wright.

Thanks Johnboy and many thanks Sally. Exactly the sort of information that I wanted and which the catalogues seldom tell you!
