In answer to Seedling's question in another thread,an EM composter is one that you can put anything in, like veg, meat, catfood, fish, etc etc and then add bran containing Effective MicroOrganisms. Leave for a fortnight and then add to the wormery or regular compost bin.

I've just ordered a couple from Wiggly Wigglers

I haven't got one but you're supposed to be able to put anything that can decompose in it - bones, dog poo etc.

I think this is an American site but you can get them here.

Jenny, having had a look on their website I think you'd be wasting your money. :?

It looks exactly the same as the £7.50 items available from Blackwall. :D

Don't worry Peter, I wasn't thinking of buying one. I like to see flowers in the sunny parts of my garden! :D
Just thought Chantal might be interested. But, yes, you're right, it's a lot of money for a bit of plastic. (Like many gardening products these days. )

It would make for interesting coversation, at one's important dinner party, while being praised on the taste of the vegetables, you could explain in great detail, it's all down to the contents of your new compost bin. YUK.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I've got a Vitamix - bit like a cross between a food processor and a blender but with a motor that defeats all others! I won't bore you with the details as I have in the past.

If I put bones in - I get a sort of powder that they recommend I use in dog food and in compost.

Basically - it will reduce anything to a fine powder or a liquid.
