Dear Grock, i must be one lucky man, i've never made a new years resolution as i've never wanted to change anything in my life.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I don't make them either.
I did make one resolution about 10 months ago which was not to buy any more chocolate, so to only eat chocolate that was given to me. This was after foolishly doing an internet quiz which predicted my estimated date of death at 76! I was peeved about this as I'd decided I was going to live to 100! I've more or less stuck to that resolution.
But on New Year's Eve I don't even stay up to midnight. These days I can't seem to stay up to midnight. Which is a shame as apparently I only have 35 years of life left!

Where's the fun if you don't make a few resolutions
I'm going to get organised with the crop growing this year and have a proper orderly succession of stuff. I've bought a big new notebook - can't fail eh
Ask me again around April when I'm trying to get the garden and 2 allotments under control during silly season at work

I don't do New Years Eve at all. I'm in bed reading a book normally. I hate New Years Eve and really can't see the point of it. You've still got the same problems you had 12 hours before.

if there was any logic in it new year would be the day after the shortest day, 22 Dec, so there might be some point to it as it is its just an arbitary day on the callender. i think ive only ever seen the new year in once! this year were flying to gran canaria early on jan 1 so might be up to see it in with the kids

New Year is not something I like, particularly as I've worked at Casa Loco for a good few and it's a killer. I didn't work last year but got up at 2am to collect my sister and take her home and then again at 4.30am when I went to collect Tim. It'll be the same this year and I don't really mind, it's better than them trying to rely on a taxi after a hard night at work.
I am however ALWAYS awake at midnight as it's like WW3 round here with the fireworks and what sound like cannons going off.

Have a good one folks whether you are out on the town or tucked up at home going Bah Humbug to the lot of yer
I always see New Year as the end of winter and the start of the new season - yeah I know - but I'm the eternal optimist. Anyway, saw the first of the snowdrops pushing through in the garden today so spring is coming - yipppee
Grock - bet we don't make it past teatime tomorrow without breaking a resolution or 2

I haven't made resolutions as such but i've promised to change a few things. I'm going to organise my money properly so have arranged to change bank accounts. I've gone through everything with a fine tooth comb so that I can be more efficient cos I am really crap with money. It just seems to run through my fingers somehow.
Also, I want to start doing my travelling so have decided to start by fulfilling my dream of going to Dublin. Asked Old Fart who said he didn't fancy it so am going with my mate Twirly Shirley. Hopefully, Grock can come too if she wants to. He's now got a weed on but tough doo-doo. He had the chance. Just got to book hotels and we're off in March or April time. I get free boat crossing cos one of my brothers works for the ferry company. Plus, I fancy going to New York next November but, if I do, that will be the icing on the cake.
Also need a new car cos mines going to die very soon. Also want to try and do more on the Plot but will have to see what happens bone wise.
It's a new year so the only limit is yourself.

Hi Lizzie
Have you heard of this website?
www.moneysavingexpert.com
It's great for managing your money. No, I don't have shares in it or anything!
I completely agree with the last part of your post.

Hi Jenny
Yes, I know of this site. I've been studying it for a few months and have decided to take up some of the recommendations. I get the weekly email and he gives good advice so I'll follow it and see what happens. I need all the cash I can get my hands on to buy a car and to travel.
