Well today we went up the plot,that's me and my new electronic companion, as I cannot do anything strenous with my left hand for three more weeks, it was a hands and knees job, weeding the raised beds with a hand fork, the carrots feel better for it, and I don't feel so bad about having a month off and not being able to tend the plot, I also had a cuppa tea and a nice sit down, purrfect!!

You'll be fine once you've healed. My dad in law has one and he says it tells you when you're doing too much. He's nearly 91 and last summer he used to work in the garden for several hours a day and then wonder why he was tired. He had a lot of funny turns before he was taken to hospital and they found his pulse down in the 30's. He'd been cold, lacked appetite, been forgetting things. The heart affects all the major organs. You may find you feel a lot better all round now you've got the pacemaker. He did.

Sorry Compo, not been on line for a while so only just catching up! Sorry to hear you've been unwell - hope you're feeling a bit brighter now? Take it easy,read lots of seed catalogues and post lots of words of wisdom on here for the rest of us. x

Glad you're feeling better Comp. Just take things easy and don't do too much. Pace yourself and you'll be fine.

My mums friend had a pacemaker fitted and she's so much better now. Got loads of energy and says it's given her the best boost in years!!!!

Thanks folks, although as I said I never really felt unwell, it was the operation that did it!! But now I am healing very well and carrying out VERYvery light duties on the plot, mostly using my right arm and not my left side, thanks again for everyone's kind wishes, I am really overwhelmed.

another thing to be wary of as you start to do a bit is the oh constantly telling you to slow down and rest, even if it gets annoying just remember why they are nagging.
i got caught about 3 days after coming out of hospital, mrs came home from work and sat down to the evening meal the teenager then says "mum the jcb has moved today" did i get earache

Thanks Richard, I have kept no secrets about my activities, and plot is so recouperative, it is positivley good for me...............specially sitting in the shed with my paper and a cuppa
