I've just been on the Freecycle website that some suggested in one of the other topics and it's fantastic. Found out that there's a group here so I thought i'd sign up. What a fab idea and takes recycling to a different level.
To try, type freecycle into your search engine and up it pops. There seems to be loads of groups all over the country.

Karen Carpenter, any time of day or night. I have the Carpenter's Story on video and have just about worn it out (worse than Sound of Music) and also the boxed set of all the Carpenter's CDs. I just love that girl's voice.

Going back to Mozart - Morrison's celebrated his birthday today (OK - yesterday, as it's 1.25am) by playing his music all day in every one of their stores. Great idea and very well received by the shoppers, so I hear.
I am delighted to have had so many replies on this thread. To follow a few points
The free cds in the Telegaph are both Saturday and Sunday. I'm not sure whether to get them as inevitably they will be the most popular works, probably selected movements and I probably have some versions of these already
For those who want to hear more classical music there is of course Classic fm but you may not know of Lyric fm on the satellite channel 915 and even BBC Radio 3 has some quoite decent stuff on at night.
Classic fm also has independent stations in Australia, South Africa and I think Canada too, all available by the wounders of the Internet.
From the USA there is a station WCPE (internet)which has 24/7 classics with full listing
Lastly the contender for the most popular piece by Mozart is his Clarinet Concerto, if you don't know that one you must put that right and it's the whole work not just the slow movement.
Nuff said for now, I'll be watching this one.

Just put in the CD to listen whilst I browse the site. Unfortunately I have to go and watch the football in a minute - originally from Cheltenham and my first music teacher lived about 50 yards from the ground - memories!
Chantal, thanks for the detailed list, that was a great help. Mrs went through my library this morning and made a list of all the mozart stuff theat we have on any disk big or small and I reckoned we couldn't have missed much but when we saw your list she was motivated to go shopping, the local newsagentts had a pile of Telegraphs at 1.00 pm so there should be no problem to buy a copy even now. We hadn't got the Divertimento which is nice. Looking forward to tomorrow's last 3 items which we lack. If you don't have the clarinet concerto in full I recommend that you make good that deficiency some time.
