I wondered where you'd got to. I hold you personally responsible for all this fighting you know. :wink:
I would just spray with a fatty acids based insecticide if the infestation is bad enough to be affecting the plants. I had blackfly on my beans one year and this did the trick. I haven't experienced aphids on peas - is it possible they're growing too soft? (Too much fertiliser?) Fatty acid insecticides don't kill the goodies like ladybirds and lacewings. I use a product called Organic Pest Control by Bio. It's completely harmless to humans so you don't have to wait before harvesting.

Why cover your beans with fatty acids when the hosepipe does a better job. Is it just because the bottle says Organic. Some people will swallow any hype. H2O is a marvellous chemical.
