Mr Potato Head

Hello!

We've added a new section to the site. It's called 'News' and guess what it does... (No, it's not about potatoes...  )

We're going to keep a online list of some of the latest news stories. Some that are simply too late for the current edition of the magazine, and some are just too hot to hold back.

I'd encourage people to take a look at the stories, and comment on them in the forum. Hopefully, they'll be informative and thought provoking (although I'm wary of provoking any of you lot! ;) )

This week we have...

Folly turned paradise open at last

A rich man's folly featuring Oriental gardens and a boating lake has been lovingly restored by local people in the North East.

Blair’s last chance to stop climate chaos

Garden Organic, the national charity for organic growing, is one of more than 30 charities joining forces for the Stop Climate Chaos coalition’s new ‘I Count’ campaign.

... and many more!

Dear Mr Potato Head, sounds like a good idea to me, bet Blair's last chance to stop climate chaos will go down well.
And i'm sure you wouldn't provoke us lot.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I just had a look at the home page for the news and I've read the one about the folly, plus one about Alzheimer's and gardening but nothing on Tony Blair and climate change.

I know I'm suffering from a touch of CRS lately but I really can't see it. Where is it Mr PH?

Perhaps it's pre-wedding insanity Chantal... next thing you know you'll be spending £400 on a fruit cake!

No the home page only has a couple of 'news' items now, just to lead you to our dedicated news page at http://www.kitchengarden.co.uk/news.php

Oh I SEE! You put one of the items you mentioned on the front page and then have another (news) page with the same item and some more; is this just to confuse the easily confused, ie me?

I'm not doing pre-wedding insanity, sorry. I don't even have a date yet! Tim is now going for a stag weekend to the Le Mans 24 hour race so I can confidently predict no wedding until at least July. As for spending for £400 on a fruit cake, no way. I'd only spend that sort of money on something useful, like another greenhouse.

Sorry, I've hijacked your news thread...

Don't worry, your wedding (or is it weeding?) is big news!

Hmm, yes I sort of agree with the front page / news page argument, but I was trying to avoid having too much stuff on the front page... Maybe I should have a small box for news headlines on the right hand side of the index page... :?

As with so many things the website is a work in progress, so all (constructive) comments welcome!

To be honest, if you'd not said to look for those two articles I doubt I'd have been confused. It was finding one, which made me think you'd put the news on the home page, but not finding the other article that floored me. Because I thought I was on the right page I didn't look at the menu on the left, sorry. Also, I had only just woken up.
