25 REASONS WHY ALCOHOL SHOULD BE SERVED AT WORK
1. It's an incentive to show up.
2. It reduces stress.
3. It leads to more honest communications.
4. It reduces complaints about low pay.
5. It cuts down on time off because you can work with a
hangover.

management wants to hear.
7. It helps save on heating costs in the winter.
8. It encourages carpooling.
9. Increase job satisfaction because if you have a bad job,
you don't care.

to work.

wasted.
14. Salary negotiations are a lot more profitable.

16. Employees work later since there's no longer a need to
relax at the bar.
17. It makes everyone more open with their ideas.
18. Everyone agrees the work is better after they've had a
couple of drinks.

"gross,"

Try this one on the boss.

Where I used to work the team meetings were always held in a pub. The boss would insist on it.
And if anyone wanted to pull a flanker she insisted on knowing so that she could tell her bosses to bog off so she could join in the skive.
She was a great boss, respected her staff and helped them to climb that slippery ladder to the top.

and the connection to kitchen gardening is...... ?
Mr Potato head, could you please create an 'off topic' general chatter, and leave this one for that connected to the general area of kitchen gardening ?
I knew there was a good reason I didn't come here often any more...

As I see it this is what General Chatter is designed to do. Sort the Strict Gardening Subjects out and leave this one for the less serious side of gardening.
Gardeners like a joke the same as everyboby else so Lizzie's posting has a perfect right to be here on the forum. Albeit it is a slight departure from what we have all been used to but remeber you only ever share jokes with friends.
We are all on tenter hooks awaiting the day when we can get the season started properly.
I would far sooner have a laugh, which I certainly have, than everybody being at loggerheads.
But I defend the right of Ali to voice her opinion openly on forum.
For those who do not know Ali she is a nutritionalist who has helped this forum an awful lot over the years and I for one have been exceedingly greatful for her advice.

JB.
If Ali is a nutritionalist let's have a thread for nutrition. I have already broached the subject and had it suggested that for a start it is done as a subsection under cookery, whether that would include raw foods such as salad ingerdients and fruit is rather questionable. I wasn't going to do it all on my own but how about it now?
(returns to washing the beansprouts)
p.s. my gardening year starts in September or October, the new year is too late to sow spring onions and cabbage, and carrots, the seed catalogues start in August! I'm on my second wave now.

I agree with the idea of a nutrition section. Great idea especially as there is so much mis-information out there.
As for Ali's comment, so what? My dummys not on the floor. She can say as she pleases. I just believe that if you share one smile you get triple joy back.

Mr Potato Head
Hi folks,
As far as I'm concerned, the general chatter can be about anything you like. It's a virtual
garden fence / potting shed. There are plenty of other areas for more serious / garden-specific questions.
Party on, I'm off for my morning meeting and G&T....
