I did get out today though.
Job interview. Two panels and a practical test. Don't think I'll get it.
Reason I'm so keen on my mouse problem is that guess where I'm curing my squash and onions?
Yup, thats right, in the greenhouse with the mice.
Mouse in the house.

We get rats from time to time but my sister in law has been in pest control. She gave us some poison in blocks. We threaded it on a wire and hung the wire in the middle of a drain pipe. Works. Another way - find hole and shove poison down and block off. Also used eradirat. The trouble is - we're in their habitat.
forgot to say my worst rat experience was when I went to open a food bag for the pigs and it jumped. I jumped! - and screamed! And it jumped again! I thwacked it with a log and it jumped again! I'd had enough by then because I just haven't got the killer instinct. I went for husband and it must have fled.

Come round to Peter's greenhouse, its warm, dry, full of Squash and he leaves us bread on little tables all round the floor.
Snap and Snap last night, that's five of the little so and so's.

Some of the traps are, how can I put this, sticking, not triggering, not ruddy working well enough.
They are bare of bait, but still set.

Hi Peter - have you considered getting a cat? Poisons are effective on rodents and especially rats because they're unable to vomit unlike mogs and dogs!
It was my something'th birthday today, and my beautiful black cat awoke me at 3.45am with the utmost urgency. She had my present, in her mouth, and she wasn't in the mood to wait till I was less sleepy to give it to me...
Particularly because it was struggling to get OUT of her mouth at the time. So she promptly dropped it on the bedroom carpet, and came up for a cuddle, whilst the little mouse scrurried away.....
So, rather sleepily I went to work (late) this morning, not having slept a wink.... and when I got back, in the sitting room was yet another mouse for me.....
As I tidied up a bit before Trousers got back from work, I tucked his slippers under the stairs and saw two fluffy feet on top of my picnic basket (I know, strange place to keep a picnic basket...) but the fluffy feet had floppy ears attached at the other end
- and quite frankly, I've had enough now....!
I expect SHE finds it funny....

What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. The good they do is inconceivable....

Franksmum, errmm, I'm not a cat person.
Don't like them.
Allergic to them.
Dislike the effect they have on wanted local wildlife.

That's fair enough Peter, each to their own.
Wellie have you told your cat you'd prefer flowers or chocolates???
