I'd welcome Lady lettuce with her wussy boots any day, scaffolders of my aquantance wear Kevlar toe-capped boots nowadays, so nurr-nurr.

Captain Carrot I would be more worried about having seen his avatar. Is it a command or a pest?

We must all make a pact to write to the magazine more, either via snail-mail or E's.
It was a 'slow news day' both in October AND November on the Letters and Tips pages....
And Mr. Hayes's letter got featured two months running, albeit with a different title, and got awarded the Star Letter and £20 worth of vouchers second time around. How cool is THAT !?

Are you SURE I don't qualify for a prize Captain ?
No, actually, I don't fancy a Yellow Card now you come to mention it.........

Yes, you're quite right. Only I barely find time to post on here. :(
Before you write to KG, though, could you let us have that recipe for lemon verbena? And the one for delicious peaches would be very much appreciated too.

Peaches one is done already on the Readers Recipe site, and yes of course I'll add the Lemon Verbena pud recipe to the same site, over the next couple of days.
Can YOU tell me what a 'stand alone' onion bed is ???

Trousers and Me did a lot of work in the garden today, and are opening up more of it to fruit and veg, and I'm getting rather interested in having a permanent onion bed, and I'm not sure if that's what 'stand alone' means, but I'm sure I shall be able to learn about it here.
Dead 'Citing this Vegetable Growing. The more you learn, the more you want to do it. Mad.....

Doh! Always was a bit slow on the uptake. Don't even know what a stand alone onion bed is!

Well done all, next time I want to sneak my uncle some free vouchers I'd better remember to change his name (only joking). Red faces in the KG office all round.
Yes any letters very welcome for the mag and letters with pictures would be even better. Who knows one of you might be chosen as star letter one day - although after the trouble you've all been giving me lately I doubt it!
p.s What's an avator - I thought it was someone who flies planes (carrot fly! Very good Peter)

Sorry Captain, I promise to pay less attention next month...

An Avatar can be defined as;

A graphical image of a user, such as used in graphical real-time Chat applications, or, a graphical personification of a computer or a computer process, intended to make the computing or network environment a more friendly place. :D .

This term refers to an interactive representation of a human in a virtual reality environment; term was popularized by Neal Stephenson's novel 'Snow Crash'. 8)

An earthly embodiment of a deity.

We'll discount the last definition and paraphrase the rest to "its yer picture like".

Thanks Peter
Glad I asked! Why exactly are we discounting the last definition?
