We're all meeting for lunch on the TKG STAND.
Isn't that right, Annie ?!
No.... we never actually got the 'go ahead' from Steve on that one, so I guess it's the Gold Car Park again in the Spring, for those wanting to go...!
And Steve, we all really enjoyed meeting you at last.

Tigger, sorry to bother, but Trousers came home wearing Grock's straight-jacket. Has she reported hers' missing yet? Perhaps JB slipped it on in the harvest tent by mistake....
Lyndon took his eye off them for FIVE minutes, and look where it's got us now....
What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. The good they do is inconceivable....

Saturday, Sunday, car park or stand for next year. I will have to defer the decision for next spring until all is decided, but I would very much like to chat to Steve regarding which way magazine content could change which I suppose will be possible at any time that he is at the stand. How about a visitors book at shows, at least we i.e. subscribers, visitors and staff alike, can see who has called at the stand.

Allan,
I think with this posting in your words "I am not understanding this."
If you want to discuss anything with the Editor of the magazine then you can E-Mail him or pick the phone up and speak to him at any time but I suggest to you now that to do so at The Malvern Spring Show is not the right time to bog down a person who is not there to get into long and so called meaningful discussions with you or anybody else on that day.
What you must remember is that Steve Ott is the Editor and you are the Punter and certainly not the other way round. The use of the word 'WE' looks distinctly as though you think you should be kept informed of all the information which would be private to the magazine and of no concern of yours.
I rather feel that if I were Steve Ott reading your posting I would send a deputy to the Show next Spring and stay at home.
I really think that your posting is the most pompous posting I have ever read and should come in for some kind of award.
JB.

Well you totally lost me there Johnboy!

Allan is right, and is welcome to chat about anything at shows if the Editor turns up :) Just ask our Tractor magazine editor, Peter Kelly :) From the moment he arrives he's bombarded with readers asking questions, complimenting and complaining - and that's part of the job.

Shows are also a great place to have a one-to-one with editors - and also the place they generally go to gether features and article ideas - again I point to Peter Kelly who gets loads of tip-off's for old Tractors etc etc from shows.
When any of us attend a show we expect - nay hope! - that we get people coming to talk to us. Its actually tougher to ring to talk to an editor - whilst in office their usually surrounded by work and pressure.

To put the matter straight I have several articles that I would dearly love to write on topics barely or never covered in the magazine but I would much prefer to discuss them before embarking on such a venture in the 'long evenings' of the coming winter, with the possibility that much of the effort would be wasted.
Let me say that the last 18 years have been a steep learning curve of new experiences and I would love to pass on some of that expertise.
I won't say any more lest I get 'gazumped".
