Steve, just out of curiosity, why do you never join in with any of the discussions on the forum? There must be some things you don't know, some disasters to report and help you could give to others.

Hi Chantal, I'm sorry that you feel that I never join in the discussions, I feel that I have contributed to some of the discussions that I feel confident in my knowledge on if I am not confident enough I do not engage in them as I had to give up work through ill health Anxiety & Depression I hope you will understand that it takes me a bit of effort to engage in something,I feel confident in posting on my website and hopefuly in time I will feel confident enough to post more on the forums I am on, however if this is not good enough for this forum then I will sadly have to unregister from it, could you please advise me as to if this is the case, regards Steve.

Dear Steve, i know Chantal would not have meant that you don't put enough input into the forum, as your website is something to behold, and really must take a lot of time and effort and it is a real pleasure to read your comments each week.
All i think Chantal was trying to say really, is that a lot of other people would sometimes benefit from your knowledge.
But as you said, if you don't feel confident on posting on a subject, just stick to what you are certainly good at.
please don't unregister from this site, as you give a lot of people a lot of pleasure.
My kindest regards Old Herbaceous.

I'm sure Chantal won't mind me leaping in here - as OH has suggested, she just wanted you to share your knowledge and experience Steve. She didn't intend it to sound like a criticism.
Please don't de-register Steve. We need all sorts on this Forum and your skills and expertise are evident on your website, without you having to 'talk' on here.

Sorry folks, I didn't mean to upset anyone.
As has been said, Steve, as you plot looks so good I thought you must have loads of tips that could be passed on to others and just wondered why you kept clear of us.
However, if you don't want to, and you clearly have good reasons, there's nothing to say you have to and we're happy that you put all your effort into your website.
Just ignore me.

By posting you updates Steve you are half way there.
I know that Chantal wasnt deliberately knocking you Steve but to those who dont know your history your lack of input other than promoting your website could be construde as just being a self promoting "look at me" exercise and contrary to Johns comment, Chantal had a justifed point which you have responded to admirably.
Your obvious knowledge is a resourse that is tantalisingly out of reach to people here on the forum and hopefully you will get the confidence to share that resource as you do with your blog as time progresses.

Hi Chantal, I am sorry that I seem to have misunderstood your original post, I thought that the moderators were not happy with my contributions or the lack of them whereas it seems as if you were asking as to why I couldn't contribute more because my input would benefit others, sorry once again and thankyou to all the others who have replied to this post subject, regards Steve.

Good morning Steve, it looks like you have got a real challenge on with your new plot.
I love a challenge like that, even when half way through you stand there and think, what on earth have i started this for, but the pleasure you get at the end is absolutely fantastic.
With your brussels, i used to have that problem with the actual sprouts blowing [as some people call it]
an old gardener told me to really heel them in a lot harder and not to plant them in loose soil, i found this really did help.
Your certainly right about the runner beans cropping heavy at the moment, i have picked over a hundred lbs of beans in one week.
So glad you are going to stay on the forum.
I do love a happy ending
Kind regards Old Herbaceous.

Steve, don't be put off by anything or anybody. In spite of certain parties who think they own the place and can tell others what or what not to do it's just the product of a warped mind. I hate such bullies. Really the best way to deal with that sort of message is to ignore it however much you feel that you ought not let them get away with it.I am by nature a very shy person and for years it came hard to do any internet messaging, it really isn't all that daunting. I am sure the vast majority of forum users will agree with me.
However you feel, take your time and do as much or as little as you wish.
Regards
Allan

its remarkable how different people approach these forums, if i want to say something i bash it out and post, i guess im self confident (thick skinned or insensitive?) not to worry too much about spelling , punctuation etc or whether it will ruffle a few feathers. is stirring with a wooden spoon stimulating informed debate? my oh contributes to another forum on a totally different subject and will spend hours checking and retyping and wondering whether she really should post or tone it down a bit. at the end of the day we all settle on a style or presemce that we ourselves are happy with , if some other cyberperson isnt happy with that then thats their problem , dont worry about it. wifes just ggot back with a car load from tesco so will post this without even reading it bye
