Richard, I have to disagree with your remark. To be fair the position is that as becomes obvious once you get into it that it is as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. There is a default condition, easily restored, whereby you can work it in the simplest and most obvious way by pressing one of two buttons, one represents picking up the handset and the other putting it down which is fair enough surely. Any enhancements can be added when you wish. For instance press the top of the central key to make the sound louder, the bottom makes it quieter. Next step if you so wish is a single button press and it becomes a speakerphone, press again to go back to normal. As long as you take on one enhancement at a time you get used to these things. I never expect to assimilate everything in a handbook at one go, it takes time, patience and experiment. I was born as the new age of technology was blossoming, I saw the start of television and I am determined to stay with technology (or I.T.) as long as possible. We live in a digital age, it is up to us to make the best of it, there is no going back.

Dear Allan, i really must praise you on your determination to keep up with the ever increasing spiral of technology.
I must admit i fail to keep pace, and really feel quite overwhelmed by it all sometimes, it's a lot easier just to go an tend my land.
I know this is a bit of a bury your head in the sand attitude but there you have it. :?

Kind regards Old Herbaceous.

isnt it more a case of we want a tool to do a specific job and dont want the bells and whistles that some anorak has decided to add on. cars are a good example, a lot of people want a dry box on wheels to do local trips, school , shops, work etc we dont need aircon, sat nav, abs, traction control, 100mph, 0 to 60 in 5 secs ( so we get to the next set of red lights sooner?) or a music box to deafen everyone in the carpark .
