Hi all,
Have suddenly got lots of small holes in the leaves of my peppers, I'm sure they almost appeared overnight.
I cant se any bugs but guess they must be there somewhere. I searched back through the forum and found a recommended website that suggests it is flea beatle.
Could any one confirm this and advise on a remedy.
Thanks very much
David

Hi David
I, too, have holes in my pepper leaves and wasn't that worried about it until I realised that my glossy green peppers, which are pretty large and I was hoping would turn to a nice glossy red, started to go brown and rot. On inspection each had a perfect round hole, near the top where something has obviously burrowed in. I can't see anything inside.
Anyone know what this is and whether its the same beast that's eating the leaves and what I can do about it? They're growing in a polytunnel alongside some aubergines which are mottled with red spider mite so it's not looking very good disease-wise already!
Any thoughts much appreciated

My money is on Slugs, they love both the leaves and fruit of peppers.

Hi BPP and S89,
I first posted this in June as you can see and looking at it now its still a mystery as I searched the whole plants and found nothing. Now in September there are two culprits 1 - Definatley Tomato moth caterpillars, the peppers are in the same g/house as the Toms and they are both infected. I'm pretty sure if you sit quietley and scan the bushes you wiil spot them - also you'll see their droppings.
The other suspect is woodlice only because I have caught a few hidden away among the stems and they would nt be there if they werent feeding (?)I'm guessing they are nocturnal feeders whch is why I havnt actually caught them in the act.
No slugs spotted so far.
