Having tried your recipe and raved about it to all & sundry. I gave a copy of the recipe to someone at work last week, all day I had people thanking me-it seems that my colleague photocopied it 24 times.. I hope it wasn't copyright! Chilly jelly seems to be contagious.. we may need to join your support group

Thanks for it

Spread the word! I found a recipe and adapted it to suit my needs as I'm sure other people will do. Recipes like this evolve; I'm thinking of trying a version that includes some apple juice.

Seedling is the one forming the self help group I believe. Curiously enough, although I do like the stuff I'm not addicted like everyone else. Does that make me a pusher?

By the way, I have one "user" who wakes up in the night and then has to get up and eat the stuff on toast. Now THAT's a sad addiction.

I might need to join Seedling's group as a failure. The first lot didn't set. I set about the second lot with a heavy hand and caramelised it. Third time lucky this evening - I hope. :?

I added the juice of a lemon to my last batch and it set beautifully. It's supposed to be a fairly loose set and it does seem to depend on the type of chilli for some reason.

Tom Parker-Bowles had an article in todays Mail-on-sunday magazine about an American chilli sauce festival.

Quite a bit on the addiction and heat (scoville) including some stuff at £245 per bottle.

If anyone is interested I could scan and pm. :D
Do not put off thanking people when they have helped you, as they may not be there to thank later.
