Hi, We thought we were growing peppers (capsicum annuum) but have yet to see any kind of fruit or flowers. This is our first time so are unsure what to expect.

We have attached a picture of the plants can anyone tell us if these are pepper plants or not.

Thanks in advance.

The shiny leaved ones toward the bottom of the photo look like peppers but the tall ones don't.

What do others think?

Oh, Next year we will put better lables on the seed trays. This was the first year we used seed trays and the cardboard rotted away. Doh.

Yep aubergines are coming on nicley.

I do hope we haven't transplanted some weeds, yet if we have they will be the best looked after weeds as we having been carefully watering then each night.

First of all a very warm welcome Paul, you will be popular as everyone on hear loves a puzzle.
I think the tall ones look very much like Buddleia, possibly Buddleia davidii.
And i agree with the others about the others.
One more thing we do like a good laugh on hear. :D

Kind regards Old Herbaceous.

Hi OH,
Took one look at tall plants and said Buddlea Davidii so I am glad that we both think the same.

I agree with the buddlea suggestion. If it must be a vegetable, doesn't it look a bit like jerusalem artichoke- but the leaves appear serrated, and artichokes' aren't, are they?

It looks more like my buddlea than my Jerusalem artichokes. I guess you'll find out if it starts flowering.
