Hi all
Has anyone tried to grow lychees from the stones in the fruit? These are one of my favourites and i'm eating them for England at the mo and it seems a shame to throw the stones out.
Any ideas anyone or would I be wasting my time?

i really do not recomend taking up the old cancer sticks again,methane and a naked light do not really mix,ahh but i forgot ,your a twisted fire starter

what do you mean it kept going out?what happened to your usual drink of meths?anyway chicken, my husband plans on visiting the plot this very night too clear some of the wood from your plot and i think he was hopping to joyen you in a brew and burn a few planks.do me a favor and entertain him tonight as hes doin me head in pleeeese!oh and buy the way ,anyone answed your questions about leeches?personaly i just put them in a pot of john innes no2 on a nice sunny window sill and they grow!thats what you were eating in mine, i never really got them from asda,honest!

Lizzie asked a perfectly reasonable question, and you grock in the frock denegrated it into farce!
To answer Lizzie's original question, yes it is possible to germinate the stones of the lychees, but being, what would have been termed in victorian times, stove house plants, you aint going to get any fruit off the plants, and they will take a lot of loking after.
As an aside, Lizzie, do not be tempted to take up the evil weed again. Come April this year I will have been off the fags for 19 years, and I find even the smell of cigarette smoke offensive now. I was lucky insofar as I had a friend who I worked with, who came and asked for the price of a packet of fags each morning (at the time I gave up, I was saving £1.50 a day). She paid the £10.50 a week into a bank account for me, and I could not have any of the money for 12 months. If I tried to use the excuse that I had no money on me, she would have replied that I would have found it for a packet of fags, so handover!!
My annual savings were of the order of £550, So the message I would put across is, if you had that amount of money put in front of you, would you take a match and set light to it? That is exactly what you are doing when you light up a fag!
I was only smoking +/- 20 a day. At today's prices that would be more than £2,000 a year's savings, and you're not going to set fire to that!
I know I have wandered way off beam on this thread. I would have to say in self defence that it was a somewhat weird site, but if nothing elso, Lizzie do not take up smoking again!!

Valmarg, don't worry about The Grock. I've known the old tart for years so it doesn't bother me.
As for the fags, well. I've given up again so we'ss see how long that lasts for this time. I'm not too worried, i'll see how things go. But you are right, it's like setting fire to your money. Think i'll start doing as you suggest and putting the cash away. My Aunty Glads neighbour did that, giving Glad the money each day. She bought herself a hot tub for the garden in the end with the proceeds.
Also, thanks for the lychee advice. Don't think i'll bother.

Well, to use your local term I'm gobsmacked. You pair of so and so's have got your own little private battleground.
I really feel that having visited this strand, I have visited an out of this world experience.
You lovely dozy 'old' pair of idiots.
The only serious (and in this instance, VERY SERIOUS) item is Lizzie, do not go back on the fags. The help I had in giving up was not that 'I will put the money away', but the fact that I had a very good friend who took the money off me and put it into a bank account. You will not be able to do this on your own. You really need someone you can trust to take the money off you each day, and bank it for you. Believe me, left to your own devices, you will sink back in to the 'I'll make it up tomorrow', which of course you never do.
If I can help someone off the fags, MY LIVING WILL NOT BE IN VAIN. Seriously Lizzie, it is the most stupid habit a-going.

welcome to the twisted world of liz and me,glad your enjoying yourself..i gave up smoking when i was pregnant and my ubby did too.we put our money away and fixed our house up from top to bottom including new cooker ,washing machine,etc .the ubby is still off them 7yrs now,i went back on them after 3 yrs,after a family member died.i agree liz should give all her money to me!!! after all my house is starting to look a bit shabby after 6 yrs
