I have one plant that's been in the ground for about 20 years. It comes up every year, but the shrubs around are now so big, I can't see it anymore!

Made a good impact on the weeds today, but no doubt they will be back as this is the third time I have weeded the asparagus & back beds but it could be sorted if the plots opposite did some weeding. One is excused as his wife had recently died & I will pop over there with my hoe when I finish my plots just to do a quick tidy for him. I saw him in the supermarket & he is coming back.
Going down on Wednesday to finish the last few beds & hopefully with the warmth & less rain they might be more controlled. One good thing was I found today was loads of strawberries hiding in the weeds that the slugs & birds missed! That's it for now for this end as got to get back to the other beds. Not one lettuce has showed still, they start of fine & then just give up & wilt! I'm going to re-sow the next ones in amongst other beds & plants, shouldn't upset any thing else as I mostly grow tom thumb as small & no wastage. Anyway will see! Final bonus was local news says some light overnight rain for a couple of days here so can get cracking straight away without getting the hose out!

Blimey it is lovely being caught up...well I almost am, just one more side to do some minor weeding but today I got the last of the big weeds out & did some sows to fill the gaps so all 8 beds sorted....the joy! (Well a lot of the joy was finding baby plants hiding in the weeds looking perky & happy). Next visit down will be the same but the weeds that side are nowhere near so uncontrolled as these were. Sowed some chickpeas in the narrow beds by the fencing so betting is open to see how long before they are all nicked by the rats. 
Funnily last year they never touched them.
Tunnel looking good & 2 toms have fruit so really pleased about that after all the time wasted to get them to germinate, not to mention the cost. Took my early spuds out, as just doing nothing. Every one I dug had one good sized spud but all the others were really tiny tiddlers. Hopefully the 2nds & main will play the game! What feed would you suggest to meet their needs to give a bigger harvest? I prepped all these beds over winter with a light feed & covered them so soil was loose & gave them a compost top up when I uncovered. Should I give these a proper feed? What do you suggest to feed them? I try really hard not to end up with bags & bags of compost/liquid feed for this or that so something generic?

Been busy hoeing the allotments this morning and have cut all the grass….trying to get as much done, before the temperatures rise again, as just work will take some doing, without trying to work on the allotments.
Looks like Clive, is still unable to get on the forum…..must be so frustrating for him!

Lovely pictures oldherbaceous and Geoff, great potatoes and flowers, I do like pictures on the forum and I used to post some but don't seem able to now.
I have been away to Bath, I love the city and the walks in the surrounding hills are magical, but coming back to all the weeds has meant a lot of tiring work.
Sold my sheep a few weeks ago so I could go and stay in Bath and the grass has grown and all gone to seed so have been out flail topping.
Very pleased with my onions and leeks that I sowed early in the glass house, first time I had ever done this and I will do so again next year. Peas were a complete disaster but at least the pidgeons look very fat and well on them.
