Well as it has now gone clear and frosty I thought I should post what Ribblehead viaduct really looks like.
Winter bits and bobs.

Today was officially cold. Weather said it was going to be 3C, tunnel temp said it was -2.6C. Soil temp said get another pair of gloves on, but at least not frozen. I obviously made a significant fuss of course & kept all my coats on! Wind caused a bit of mayhem but at least the blown away netting still on my plots. Plot 2 is finished, baby Pak Choi went in finally; I did hmm & ha for a bit about putting them out but they didn't seem to mind the tunnel temp so went for it & they have a micro mesh cover. They are living with the other Chinese now I've identified the baby plants from the weeds.
Couldn't access the flood bed so left that & weeded & Strulched the front flower beds, strawberries & blackberries. I've done way too much weeding so a reduction will be appreciated when time to start again. All in all, pretty chuffed, & mostly finished the beds so time to do some tidying, swapping the compost bins & pruning & the like, so when spring moves closer I can paint & sort the shed. Just to amuse I have been looking online on how to straighten the door on the shed....obvs still no idea as every thing found is slightly different & no idea of what they are actually saying as never even seen the hinges & stuff they are suggesting, in fact I think some are even wider than the door!

Just taken a trailer load of horse poo over the allotment, while the ground was fairly solid….

Rain here for a couple of days, then we might have a little break, even the temp is improving! Nipped down the High St for a few bits & bobs & it was heaving, obvs all the weather reports of snow & ice encouraged everyone to stock up a bit. Thankfully I volunteered to go down as I think Mr on his mobility scooter in the shops would have had caused even more chaos. It was pretty chaotic without his help as lots of children out with mum & dad who were not enjoying the experience, lots of background tutting could be heard from the older folk & I had to avoid a couple of nippers running around or having a paddy on the floor. I couldn't wait to get out of there & even shelled out for a taxi to get home, just in case they were on the bus!

..but iced coffee is the in thing...
Cold wet rain here...puddles sat above frozen ground..
When I went out first thing there was just a thin film of frozen wet as I flicked the wipers on..so looks like we had the sleety spell before the rain.
Anyway, it made it quiet out for my visit to the petrol station and co-op shop....

No snow, but a bit breezy here, & never ending showers! Yellow warning is back out for wind & rain tomorrow so no plot work! Probs going to be a bit wet when I go down on Tuesday but I've got some jobs to do that don't involve mud so should be able to keep busy & reasonably clean!

Weather has added another days warning down here, this time for snow. Today turned out better than anticipated but too late in the day to go down, as it was drizzly & windy prior to this. This evening & tomorrow is ice, slow & sleet risk & pretty much ditto Wed with more snow from the north. Maybe I'll get down Thursday then?
