This is not a cheap book. The RRP is £40 although I got it new from Amazon for £26. It's a large tome. Perhaps I'll need a wheelbarrow to move it around. I only got it about half an hour ago so I've only had time so far to just flick through and dip into it. I think there's every chance that this could become one of my all time favourite cookbooks

I just hope the indexing is better than the last Ballymaloe book I bought. I was forever correcting the index of that one. Anywa y, check it out if you happen to be near a bookshop. I like to support Waterstones sometimes but it's always more expensive than Amazon (they have different overheads) so I admit I get most of my books from the latter. But the world would be a duller place without real bookshops so it's worth paying a premium sometimes. Of couse you can look at a sample on A but it doesn't really do justice to the extent of this book.

Ooo, let me know what you think Stravaig. I’ve got her “Forgotten Skills of Cookery” and absolutely love it. Home made butter anyone :)
