I’m in awe of your pea support tying Geoff. Mine always look like some drunk has had a go at a bamboo sculpture lol

I have to agree with you their OH. As you are aware from my whinging quite a few of my beds were capped, but quite deceiving as the first 8" or so to sow/plant were fine. Ditto with my neighbour on 1 side, the other side just gets his rotavator out as sows ground coverage for over winter.

Meloine shallots have been very good, first time growing this variety, just lifted them and very pleased, one more success in a rather indifferent season so far.

I've not heard of this variety before so I had a look online, funnily only Suttons has come up with them, but not in stock which is expected. I can't remember the variety I have this year but very mixed sizes, side by side with same conditions one is struggling but the other was perky & happy.

Pretty sure I got them from Dobbies, I guess it will be another couple or three months yet before they are in stock for next year.

Sorry, I should have asked permission to go in your garden.

Now I'm wanting to grow some edible flowers not sure if I'm too late in the season or if I need to excavate my little hydroponic units. My friend in Thurso ( a professional gardener) always told me that his gardening season was at least a month behind ours, when we lived in Kent.

Lifted the Onions and taken the tops off the Pink Fir Apples, not lifting the tatties yet, looking forward to eating some PFA, my favourite tasting waxy tattie. Broad beans just about done now, they will be cleared later in the week as will the peas. Getting a few more tommies from the greenhouse, but the sweet con doesn't look up to much, a proper mixed up growing season so far.
