When you look at the President's in the US as an example it would be way scary not having a Monarchy. The wealth of the monarchy is inherited from centuries of really nasty predecessors looting, killing & stealing & many of the things they have are bribes from those around them to help them stay in favour & save their heads.
Slightly better behaved now, but still manage to be indiscreet or just plain stupid!
