You are getting well ahead with the sowing & then of course the potting on to follow. I wouldn't be surprised if you have a very successful year as we all kinda rush through this process as so much to do. I bet with your limitations to do other things you will be very observant of these plants sturdiness & will notice the little abnormalities & weed these out - (no pun intended)!

Hospital in the week to remove the stent and then hopefully they'll stop poking and prodding for a bit and let me heal. 1.1 degrees in the greenhouse last night and a very brief Aurora just after midnight, still clinging on to winter, a pal who lives just north of Pitlochry sent us a photo of snow on the ground at the back of his house yesterday, he is about a 1000 feet up though.

It’s really interesting knowing how the weather is in other parts of the Country…especially how it affects gardening dates. One thing that always surprises me is, the speed with which your plants catch mine up…but that might just be down to you being a far superior gardener….

OH we get a shorter growing season, but we get longer days so that helps stuff catch up, I was out with some pals night fishing for Sea Trout a few years back and we were sat blethering waiting for it to get dark, putting the world to rights. One of them then said I take it we're not bothering to fish tonight then? We looked at out watches and it was after two in the morning and it still wasn't dark!!

Just had a sideways stormy shower and now the suns out, snowing a few miles away so all plants are staying under cover with more frost forecast. I have a lot of plants in clear old yoghurt pots, which are brilliant as I can see they are not pot bound.

We had torrential rain for hours and hours eysterday. It was then really cold overnight, about 2-3 degrees I think. I forgot to reset the maxi-min in the greenhouse. Sunny and very cold this morning cycling to work.

Very white here this morning, even the raindrops on the car were frozen solid….but the plants seem to have got away with it, thank goodness!

Starting to see now, what shrubs and plants have succumbed to the Winter frosts, in peoples gardens….Bays, Olives, Hebe’s, Lavender’s, the list goes on….

Yes, my hebes have bitten the dust, as has the spade that we tried to dig out the biggest one with.

Just testing new software on the new computer, sorted the videos, but hadn't sorted the stills, just the top shelf of one of the blow aways, hardening off a bit prior to planting.

Me and my new assistant gardener(head of kitchen who does not do muddy nails normally) have planted all the onions grown from seed out this morning, with light rain and no frosts forecast for a week or so, they needed to be out. I could see the roots in the clear old yoghurt pots were starting to circle round the bottom of the pots.
