This evening it's pouring down..onto still frozen ground, with my car telling me, ping, ping *4.5C, on the drive home. A murky filthy muddy lot.

This afternoon I left a tooth at an establishment up the coast....it was beyond saving and giving issue, handled by a very nice young lady, a bit nifty with a set of "pliers"...of an accreditation, I suspect, higher than the Milton School of Denistry.? ;)

Meanwhile, two border fork heads have arrived in the post, only heads...so you know what I need to obtain next.......... ;) Although me being me I already have some in stock, just in case, in the house hallway.....

Weather is very much the same here, Clive….misty rain this morning, falling on the cold ground, made it like a skating rink….phoned my Mum early and told her not to go outside until I got down but, got there at 7.15am and she looked white as a sheet….decided to go out anyway and all but took a massive tumble….
Really sticky on top, trying to barrow some well rotted compost and muck!

I taught that Lady all I knew, Clive….😀

Are they old types of fork heads you have got, Clive and do you use the old type of rivets for them. Good place to keep the handles…😀

I've just checked stock levels and there are five four candles stood in the "stores"...and two slasher handles and a heritage Caldwell's grafting spade.... :shock: :oops:

Rivets used are sometimes actual proper rivets but I have been known to make alternatives from 6" nails.....

One head has a lipped top socket with single rivet location whilst the SKJO brand one has a longer front strap with two.... Just don't ask why I bought them...I suppose some people collect Supermarine Spitfires and some have several to their name..but I bet they don't have as many forks..............

And as another bonus, you wouldn’t be able to store many spitfire wings in your hallway, either….😀

I had problems with 2 teeth I went to my dentist who was brilliant he removed the first as it had split into 4 I thought I had lost a filling he got the tooth out after a bit of a battle ,the second was ok for a few weeks then It started started or so I thought I have problems with my trigeminal nerve were it comes out of my brain it’s trapped between 2 blood vessels which are swollen any way I went back over the second one only to find my dentist had moved to a private practice 20 miles away his replacement was a young polish lady who was very nice she explained the problems I could have by removing it anyway the arrangements were made for the following week that’s when things started to go wrong she had warned me as I had a canal filling this would make the tooth brittle but it was doubtful it would cause a problem ,in went the syringe 3 times then she started 45 minutes later she was still twisting and pushing at one point she pushed to hard and slipped pushing the pliers or whatever they call them into the back of my mouth she then gave me another injection got her assistant to hold my head and started again after a few minutes there was an almighty crack and my tooth broke just below the gum line ,she then announced I needed to see a specialist she would send an email off before the day was through marking it urgent, I left it 4 weeks then started chasing it up, I eventually found the phone number of the people dealing with it who informed me they had 1200 on the waiting list before me , I had no option but to go private which cost me over £400 I begrudged paying to go private,I had the root removed on 21of December last year just over a month ago I’m still getting pain from this bloody nerve

That sounds like a horror story., Robo. Poor old you. :(

Before going overseas we usually have to pass some kind of MOT of various health-related issues. My dentist, a very lovely Pakistani woman, referred me to a specialist for a couple of extractions. The specialist turned out to be a very large black man. (I mean "large" not fat, just very tall and well built.)

He did a bit of poking about and then went back to his desk and I'm lying there for about ten minutes wishing he'd get on with it. Then he said, "OK, we're done. You can go now.". :shock: I had thought the poking about bit was just him assessing what had to be done but he'd actually taken the two teeth out and I hadn't even noticed. I went back into the waiting room and announced that if I ever had to have any teeth removed in future then it had to be this man. He was brilliant!

I think I would like some of those windows, Colin….😀

Finally started to do a bit of Winter digging this afternoon….just on the limit of wetness but, managed to get a nice chunk done!

I want down this afternoon & the vents were slightly open in the tunnel & when I opened the door it was like a summers day & 28.4C in there. The plants are really appreciating the longer sunshine (well when it does shine), & the winter lettuces & Pak Choi have put a little spurt on. I managed to finish the raspberry beds & get rid of the thuggish golden ones & plant the new red ones which was stalled due to the frozen soil.

It is looking nice & dry on Sunday so think I might finally get round to emptying & tidying the shed which I like to do except for the spiders! I'm always amazed at what I find when I do like unused, unopened packages & the like neatly tucked into a corner! It's a bit like Xmas!

Been digging since first light but, had to call it a day, as my leg has gone a bit numb….got a nice amount done though and will do another section tomorrow morning….😀

Dry today but other half had to choose between weeding and cooking and as he hates gardening but enjoys cooking made several jars of Seville orange marmalade. We like it extra chunky so I've been saving extra peel from the fruit bowl oranges & lemons as you can't put too much of these peels compost heap and saves wasting it.
Hope to make a batch of 3 fruit citrus (Orange/grapefruit/lemon) tomorrow. This stuff stores for years - a friend has asked that we leave any surplus citrus marmalade to him in our Wills !!

Have you had a go at doing the fork heads yet, Clive?

The ground is starting to dry now, makes such a difference to being able to get on with things….has everyone had a good day?😀
