:D
Hi I just found this forum...
I have taken on 2 derelict plots on a allotment. I have heard a fair few tales about just when and who last tended these plots.. going back to the 70's but they both seem pretty wild and neglected to me.
They are about 60 something foot by about 86 foot altogether.

I've cleared about half since April 1st this year...loads of Bindweed, nettle and thistle roots.
Also the dreaded Mares tail is around.

I have loads of questions bubbling up as progress, but also its great to find a forum where I can chat to like minded people... and hopefully get your advice.

Just want to say hallo and whats the latest chat

Hi Debs :D

Hi Debs

Glad you found us. Hope you have a dodgy sense of humour. If so, you'll fit in fantastically well. We are a knowledgable, but mildly mad set of gardeners.

As for questions, fire away. We can always help. The wealth of knowledge on her from Johnboy, Allan and everyone else is second too none. No question is ever silly or too daft to ask. Feel free

Glad to have you join our mad, strange and happy little band
Lots of love

Lizzie

Welcome Debbie Digger, i went out with a gold digger once but thats another story.
Sounds as if you've got your work cut out with your plots. Hope you can stick at them and reap the rewards in the years to come.
Never worry about asking the silliest of questions, the worst you will get is a silly answer back, probaly from me.
Hope you enjoy yourself on here.
Try not to mention the O word. :?

Kind regards Old Herbaceous.

Hallo Lizzie

Yep... I think tick all the boxes you suggest that the slightly "loopy" will fit in well!!

Warped sense of humour etc no problem.

The on;y problem is that i am a bit of a techno dunce so getting to grips with the forum nuances and technology may initially baffle me...

so be patient while I work things out.

Thanks for saying Hi and what is your current self sufficency plane?

Nice to meet ya Debs

Welcome Debbie - beware, this Forum's addictive and there's no known cure. It's also very friendly, a bit lateral at times and often very funny. Then, of course, there's always the odd gardening tip.

Hi Debbie

I'm not as self sufficent as i'd like. My plot has bindweed (thank God for glypsophate!) but I get food that we like to eat. Early spuds are about ready for digging out but bit of a disaster on other fronts but that's gardening for you.

I, like many others, have an allotment which I enjoy doing (most of the time)

By the way, don't try to spit roast Piglet cos he's still having therapy from the last time!!!
Lots of love

Don't listen to OH Debbie, he's absolutely full of it. We think he's actually about 20 with no allotment, just a window box, but has a perverted sense of humour.

Glad you've joined us; what's your first question? :D
