I think her last post said she was going into terminal care and wouldn't be posting again.

That's the sad thing with forums like this. Due to circumstances, they're very much in the ownership of the individuals who post on them so when something sad like this happens there is rarely anybody who can follow up and post news unless specific instructions are left for those who have to manage their affairs. . People just fade into the distance. It would be nice if we could at least recognise their passing and their contribution.
If you have left us Monika, thank you for all your worthy contributions which were greatly valued.

Thank you for posting that link Peter. I was involved with some hospital procedures around that time which probably explains why I may have been temporarily missing from the forum.
Rest in Peace Monika

Autumn has arrived for sure up here, rain on and off all day, managed to trim one of the Butterfly bushes down and shredded and mulched the Blackcurrants with it. A damp chill means the fire is lit for the first fire of the winter, nights now longer than the days.
Been gardening for over 65 years and still learning.

Harvested our solitary butternut squash from four plants yesterday. Very disappointing harvest. A couple of tiny ones still on the plants but doubt they'll come to anything.

Harvested all my pumpkins & squash yesterday; some will have to finish ripening off the vine. It was not planned but the missing big orange one made the decision for me. It did exactly what I wanted it to do which was to tempt anyone in the mood for nicking to go for the orange one as the traditional halloween pumpkin & leave the good storing & eating ones alone.

Ashamed to say, as an ex National Serviceman who served under both HM & Her Father. I was the only one in my turning to attend the minutes silence last night.
